Strawberry Trifle



  • 500g Strawberries, sliced and sprinkled with some castor sugar

  • 500g vanilla custard

  • 300nl whipped cream

  • 2 tablespoons strawberry jam

  • 250g sponge cake

  • 20ml strawberry liqueur or creme de cassis

  • Directions

    Sandwich the sponge cake slices by applying strawberry jam in between and then cut them into cubes.

    Divide the sponge cake pieces among six glasses.

    Sprinkle strawberry liqueur over each piece.

    Spoon over the sliced strawberries.

    Then top each with a layer of vanilla custard and a layer of whipped cream.

    Garnish with strawberries and serve chilled.
