This traditional and exquisite Italian dessert is very easy and quick to prepare. It is usually prepared with Marsala wine, but I recently discovered it is extremely tasty if we use beer.
Beat the yolks with the sugar in a non-aluminum bowl for about 7 to 8 minutes. Add the beer slowly, a half eggshell at a time, always stirring well.
Place this bowl on a pan with some water inside and put it on moderate gas. Keep stirring until the water boils. The mixture should never boil but become a soft cream.
You can even serve it by itself, but it matches perfectly with ladyfingers biscuits or some fresh fruit like strawberries and/or kiwi.
Buon appetito!
