This is the simplest strawberry smoothie recipe I use. It takes less than 5 minutes to create a wonderful dessert for your guests.
Pure and simple is often the best - this recipe contains only strawberries, icecream and milk.
The basic recipe is for 4 servings, just double or split in half to get either two or 8 servings of this delightful strawberry smoothie.
Ingredients:
Directions:
Pour all ingredients in blender except the sugar.
When the smoothie is smooth, (I like that expression!) taste it and add sugar according to your taste.
Pour into glasses and serve immediately.
Use one whole strawberry for garnish.
To sweeten or not to sweeten?
The amount of sugar is always a point of discussion: With sugar or without? If yes, how much?
Personally I never add sugar, because I want to savor the full taste of the berries. My husband, though, always complains and starts adding some.
Therefore I started to make to batches: one with and the other one without sugar.
My tip: It's always better to have too little sugar than too much. This way your guests can add more if they want to.
Extra Tip: Don't use artificial sweetener. It alters the taste of your drink. Try to savor it pure. If you definitely must, use stevia, but only very little.
You can buy pure stevia extract powder at Amazon.
No Fresh Strawberries Available?
Try the Monin Strawberry Fruit Puree or make your own syrup.
Monin uses real ripened fruits in their purees and no artificial flavors. Those are the best I've tried so far. Most people won't notice a difference of flavor in a milkshake, if it wasn't for the missing strawberry seeds.
