The Ezine For Every Strawberry Lover!

Issue #77

Hello,

Finally! Spring arrived and with it strawberries. Wherever I go they're sold (still imported ones, but at least something).

Prices are quickly falling and in two to three weeks we will also have locally grown strawberries. Those taste a lot better than the imported ones.

Are you planning to visit a u-pick farm?

We will. This year will be the first time that our son (2,5 years) joins us. I'm not sure how much effort he does in picking the berries, but he will have lots of fun there :-)

Strawberry farms have become small amusement parks with petting zoos or hayrides. Just the perfect fun activity for the weekend: you pick, your kids play. Or is it the other way round?

Strawberry Salad with Lettuce

How about sneaking in some healthy lettuce, while your family thinks they're eating sweet fruits?

I love that recipe and it has become an almost daily lunch for me Strawberry Salad with Lettuce.

The main advantage is it has only three ingredients, takes less than five minutes to prepare and has the perfect mixture of sweet and hearty.

You'll love it too!

As we moved last year, I'm now finally having the garden I always wanted.

Today my gardener friend will come over with the car full of wonderful plants: raspberry, blueberry, blackberry, red currant, gooseberry and a hanging strawberry container. I'm excited!

How about you? Do you grow your own? Or buy? Or both?

Enjoy!

Marion
