Tipsy Trifle -
Strawberry Custard Recipe
Even though Tipsy Trifle is a quite stupid name, this Strawberry Custard Recipe tastes heavenly!
* 1 can ready-made custard
* 1 cup (250g) light pound cake
* 1/4 cup (60g) strawberry jam
* 1/3 cup (80ml) rum (can be replaced with rum flavor)
* 2 baskets of fresh strawberries
* 1 cup (250ml) cream
* icing sugar
Spoon custard into the base of dessert cups (about 2 tablespoons of custard for each).
Cut cake into 6 slices and spread jam over each slice. Cut cake into cubes. Add cake pieces into the dessert cups. Sprinkle with rum.
Spoon more custard over cake pieces. Top with strawberries and spoon some more custard over. Chill in fridge till firm (about 2-3 hours).
Lightly whip cream and spoon over trifle. Dust over with icing sugar.
Serve immediately or keep chilled until needed.
