Chocolate Covered Strawberries

I always used to think, chocolate covered strawberries are difficult to make - something only real cooking professionals can do.

And this is true for some recipes, especially if you get all artsy and make the most wonderful decorated ones.

But this recipe is super easy, anyone can do it. Anyone with a microwave, that is.

These chocolate dipped strawberries are a delight! The perfect dessert on long and cold evenings. Or for a party. Your guest could even prepare them themselves  and have fun in the process!

Ingredients

  • 12 fresh strawberries with stems
  • 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

Only use the biggest and most flawless berries, otherwise your chocolate covered strawberries will not look perfect. Rinse and thoroughly drain strawberries. Leave the stem.

Line a baking sheet with waxed paper.

Put chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl. Put bowl into microwave for 30 seconds, take out and stir. Repeat until the chocolate chips have completely melted.

Hold stem and carefully dip strawberries, one at a time, into melted chocolate to coat.

Allow any excess chocolate to drain back into bowl, then place strawberry on baking sheet.

Cool for at least 30 minutes and serve immediately.

You may keep them in the refrigerator for a few days, but it's best to eat them right away.
