Issue # 38

Hello,

Thanks to my reader Arline, I can now harvest my self-grown strawberries, before the birds do so :-)

She recommended placing a rubber snake besides the plants, because it'll scare the birds away.

And believe it or not, it really works! For now at least, maybe with the time the birds will get used to this non-moving snake that keeps them away from my strawberries. But by then, I'll think of something else.

Another big thanks to Arline, for the delicious Strawberry Pizza recipe, she sent me.

If you too, have a favorite recipe, you want me to publish, just send it by replying to this newsletter.

Enjoy the good weather and your strawberries!

  • 1/2 cup (125g) sugar
  • 1/2 cup (125ml) water

Meanwhile combine sugar and cornstarch in a large saucepan, add water and mix until smooth.

Cook mixture over medium heat until thickened, while constantly stirring. (approx. 5 minutes.)

Half strawberries and put into mixture. Cool completely and carefully spread over cream cheese layer. Chill again.

Cut into wedges to serve and enjoy!
